the rarest
collection

The Rarest Collection not only is the pinnacle of the casks available to Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd but also of the foresight of our current Chairman Euan C. Shand and that of the previous owner of the business, an American business by the name of Abe Rosenberg.

The business is now the proud owner of one the largest privately held Scotch Whisky collections in the world.

KINCLAITH

Kinclaith’s origins date back as far as 1957. Located on the south side of the River Clyde, this small malt distillery was housed within the massive Strathclyde grain distillery complex. The vital ingredients were all locally sourced, and the liquid matured in a combination of American and European Oak casks. Despite only producing for 18 years, Kinclaith remains the most elusive of all of Scotland's lowland distilleries.

CAPERDONICH

Built in 1898 Caperdonich was originally known as Glen Grant no.2 with the spirit being used to support its more well-known namesakes nearby. Whilst having the same equipment and water source it produced a different spirit, closed after only a few years in 1902 the distillery remained silent for the next six decades before being brought back to life. With the installation of new distilling technology and renamed Caperdonich, the distillery moved forward. Sadly the site was closed for good in 2002 with the last building being removed in 2011, much of the distilling equipment is now fitted into other distilleries so the legacy of Caperdonich lives on.
